We took this ice chest full of crabs to my father-in-law one day and got it back in better condition than when we loaned it out! The hinges had broken apart, but we continued to use it anyway, it was just inconvenient to have it in two pieces. So we were happy to see that my father-in-law solved the problem. I'm not sure where he got the leather from, but my guess would be that it's recycled. Great way to save money, huh?

Speaking of money-saving being a great motivator... I wanted a fountain for the pool and of course, Ned didn't mind at all. When I looked to purchase one, I couldn't find one locally, but my pool lady said she could order it and I'd have it in a few days. Good thing I asked about the price ahead of time, because I was shocked to hear what they cost! I never would've thought it could be more than $20 or so. Anyway, I put it off and thought I'd do a little more research and shopping around before deciding to order one. Ned never said a thing. Next thing I know Ned calls me outside for a surprise.... he MADE a fountain with PVC pipes! I'm not sure what kind of bells and whistles those other fountains have, but the one Ned made costs us a couple of dollars and it does exactly what I wanted it to do!! Spray water!! I love it! I guess I'm not really that hard to please, cause I was as pleased as pie with my PVC with holes for a fountain. Ned probably would've never made my fountain if they didn't cost as much as they do... so I'm glad it turned out the way that it did. Whether we saved $20 or $50, it's still $$MONEY$$ that can stay in our bank!!
I'll have to take a pic of the fountain Ned made and post that another day.
