Byron made supper and dessert tonight... both pizzas. He used the leftover ham (chopped in the food processor) from Thanksgiving with mushrooms, jalapenos, black olives and of course mozzarella cheese. It was so delicious that I really didn't care to have dessert... but if I hadn't, I would've missed out on an awesome pizza. It was so good, I just had to share the recipe.
We basically use the pizza recipe from BiblicalWomanhood.com, but with our own touches added.
To the dough, we add Italian seasoning and garlic powder and we oil and pre-bake the crust for 10 minutes before topping.
For tonight's dessert pizza we added cinnamon and sugar to the dough instead and used butter in place of the oil. For the topping, we cut up 4 apples and cooked them down on the stove with butter and sugar and cinnamon. I also added a teaspoon of cornstarch to thicken the juices up a bit. We poured the cooked apples on the pre-baked crust and sprinkled a butter recipe cake mix (just the dry powder) all over and dotted with butter and baked. While it was cooking, Byron mixed melted butter, powdered sugar and cream cheese to make an icing. We drizzled the icing over our slice of dessert pizza and it was WAY awesome!!! Then he remembered Krys brought home some BlueBell Homemade Vanilla ice cream, so we had a little to go with it. Talk about deeeelish!!! Good thing I saved room for dessert.... Byron didn't, but still ate so now he's miserable.
