Finally! It's been over a month, I know!!

I could explain why I've been MIA for over a month, but then you'd know how nuts I really am... so I'll give you a condensed, "saner" version: I was waiting til I had time to catch up on my older posts and winded up getting overwhelmed because I was TOO FAR behind and then almost gave up. Oh well, I'll just jump in and start from today. If and when I can get to some of my older posts, I will and you'll just have to find them. Heehee.

Tiffany and Brent are home on leave between duty stations for a couple of weeks... from here they're headed to Virginia. They (Tiff, Brent and Blake) spent half the day here playing RockBand with Byron and then they all left to meet Danny, Ciji and Keri to eat sushi. Minus Krystina, who spends most-to-ALL of her time chasing $$. Last I heard, Krys hadn't answered her phone, so I don't think she joined them. Even though she is the one who got us all hooked on sushi! Darned ol' bad habits!! Oh, nevermind... I just heard from Krys, she was able to meet up with them afterall. So anyway, since I had some spare time to myself I decided to update the blog. (If I were REAL honest, I'd first mention that after trying two different remotes and changing batteries AND trying to push buttons on the tv itself, I still couldn't get the XBox off the tv and finally gave up and THEN decided to blog. Heehee, that's the real truth. If I had gotten the tv to cooperate I might still not have gotten around to the blog. I don't know what happened to me, I used to be the one who knew how to work our electronics... I think having kids drains your brains. Every time I have to ask one of the kids to help me with the electronical stuff in this house I feel myself fast forward a little bit further into old age. Oh well.)

We're picking a good 7 - 9 eggs per day here on our little farm! Can you believe it? I love it! I've given most of them away, but that's part of the fun of it. I'm going to meet my brother halfway to get "the boys" (Zachary, Jaycob and Sammy - my beloved nephews) Wednesday evening, so they can spend the weekend here.... they'll be THRILLED to pick the eggs every day. Those little city slickers always have a blast when they come out to the country. Whatever citrus is still on the tree, won't be after this weekend. Those guys love to eat off our trees! Ripe or not!! LOL They are so precious! They like to take turns driving the four-wheeler while the others ride in the wagon and stop at each tree to pick some kind of fruit. You would think there would be waste, but there's not.... only the trail of peels in the yard! I'll probably have to buy them new rubber boots, which is almost a tradition because they grow so fast and I live so far that I don't get to have them here very often. :( I miss those guys so much. It's amazing how much you can love kids you didn't even give birth to!

Let me tell you a story about Sam. He's the youngest one of 'em... but certainly not the last! He's so much like Bubba was when he was little that it's like DejaVu when I look at him. Hilarious. Anyway, they were here and playing outside and it was SO cold, but they wanted to be outside. Sam's hands were like little blocks of ice, but we couldn't keep him in the house long enough to warm up. I found some gloves, but not enough to go around and since Sam was the smallest, there weren't any his size anyway. *CLICK* the little bulb in my head turned on.... it was dim, I'll admit, but at least it still turns on every once in a while, haha. I traced Sam's hand on a piece of paper and then cut the same out of four layers of fleece and in no time at all, he had a pair of mittens! Woo! Look out Martha Stewart!!! Those boys are so easy to please and so appreciative of everything... so he was just as happy as could be with his little homemade mittens. It was drizzling out, so it wasn't long before Sam came in with WET pants. My brother wanted him to change out of them, but it was the only pair of pants he brought........ listen to this...... Sam turns to me and says "Aunt Melissa can you make me another pair of pants real quick?!?" LOLOLOL How precious is that? Do you wonder why I love them soooo much??? They are just WAY TOO LOVABLE!!

Same kid, different story... they had a little fire the day before by the garden, but the next day I wanted them closer so I could keep a better eye on them since it was only Jaycob and Sam outside with the fire. This time, I only let them have a small fire... in a can. They sat next to it and gathered sticks broke them and added them in as they burnt down. Next thing I know, Sam comes running up the steps, obviously doing the pee-pee dance and just as sweet as can be, says "Tia, Tia... ummmm... do you mind if I pee in that little cup?" LOLOLOL Maybe it's not so funny to others, but if you could see those big eyes, you'd be putty in his hands, too!

I could go on and on about those boys... I love every minute with them! Can't wait to see what they come up with this weekend!!
